How we verify every prefix
A prefix page is only marked Verified when two independent sources agree on the issuing network. Until then it shows a “being verified” notice and its confidence level. We would rather show our uncertainty than publish a confident wrong answer, which is what several sites in this space do.
Source layers, in order of weight
- NTC allocations. The National Telecommunications Commission assigns number blocks to operators through memorandum circulars and numbering plans.
- Operator pages. Globe, Smart and DITO publish prefix lists, coverage pages and SIM registration portals that expose which blocks they serve.
- Cross-checked public lists. Community-maintained prefix lists and developer datasets, used only to corroborate the two layers above, never on their own.
What we do when sources disagree
Each prefix page has a section named “Why other sites give a different answer”. It names the competing claim, states which source settles it, and links the source. Disagreements are usually caused by sub-brands (a TNT block reported as “Smart” and vice versa), by the 2011 Sun Cellular merger, or by DITO’s 2021 blocks being guessed before they were announced.
Mobile Number Portability
Since RA 11202 took effect, a subscriber can move to another network and keep the number. Every result on this site therefore describes the original issuing network of a prefix. We say so on every page and in every tool result.
Cadence
The dataset is re-checked monthly, and whenever an operator announces a new block. Every edit is logged on the changelog with a date. Corrections from readers are reviewed within seven days.
