Why 02 numbers look strange
Metro Manila landlines moved to eight digits in October 2019, so a Manila number now reads 02 8XXX XXXX. The leading 8 is part of the number, which is why “0288 what network” is such a common search: 0288 is the start of a Manila landline, not a mobile block.
