What do DITO numbers start with? 089X and 099X explained
DITO numbers start with 0895, 0896, 0897, 0898, 0991, 0993 or 0994. If a number starts with 089, it is DITO: no other operator uses that range.
Why 089X
By the time DITO launched in March 2021, the 09XX space was mostly allocated to Globe and Smart. The NTC opened the 089X range for the new operator, so DITO’s first SIMs carried 0895-0898. Many Filipinos had never seen a mobile number that did not start with 09, which is why “0895 what network” spiked in 2021.
The 099X blocks
DITO was later allocated blocks in the 099X series: 0991, 0993 and 0994. This is where confusion starts, because 0995, 0996 and 0997 are Globe and 0998 and 0999 are Smart. 0992 appears as DITO on some lists and Smart on others and is flagged for verification on its page.

Is 0895 a scam number?
No. 0895 is a normal DITO prefix. Treat unknown calls with the same caution as any other number.

Only with an all-net promo. Globe-to-Globe promos do not cover DITO.
